Color runs are longer. On a standard chart, a strong uptrend can still produce the occasional red (bearish) candle from minor pullbacks. Wicks behave differently. Heikin Ashi candles in a strong trend often show little or no wick on the trailing side - a strong uptrend candle may have almost no lower wick at all, since HA Low is calculated as the minimum of the low and the (already-elevated) HA open/close values.
